Six USTA Missouri Valley Super Senior teams will be following their national championship aspirations this week, when the USTA League National Championships presented by Chrysler get underway in Mobile, Ala. at the world’s largest public facility, the Mobile Tennis Center.
Section teams qualified by virtue of their victories at the USTA Missouri Valley Super Senior Section Championships, held in September 2007 in Oklahoma City. Though the national championships are held in the 2008 calendar year, this week’s event in Mobile crown a de facto 2007 national championship for their respective National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) levels. Super Senior national championship events are typically held the following spring, but determine the previous year’s champion.

First up at the USTA League National Championships, are the 6.0 and 8.0 divisions, held April 25-27.
The 7.0 and 9.0 divisions will be held April 28-30. The USTA Missouri Valley does not have either a 9.0 men's or women's team in the field.
More than a 1,000 Super Senior players (age 60-and-over) comprising over 100 total teams will compete at the championships in Mobile. The format for the event is pool play. Good luck to our teams headed to Alabama!
