IMPORTANT DATES:
ONE SEASON ONLY– September, 2011 through April, 2012 (there will be a holiday break from 12/19/11 through 1/01/12).  The winner(s) of the Weekend Winter session, the winner(s) of the Summer season, and the Daytime Winner will participate in the District Play-Offs in July, 2012.

By Friday, September 2, Captains must register their team on TennisLink and pay the $25 team administrative fee with their credit card.

Once Captains have registered, they must mail a $200.00 check for court deposit directly to the Level Coordinator listed below.  Please note that the deposit check can no longer be paid with a credit card on TennisLink.  However, the check will NOT be deposited unless a team defaults a court and the District must pay the court fees.  At the end of the season, if no court defaults occur, the check will be destroyed.

Team captains will receive the "official" team number on or before Monday, September 5.  He/she should immediately provide that team number to their team members to use for registration.  Team members, including the Captain, must register on TennisLink and pay the player fee of $25 ($22 Fee + $3 TennisLink Fee) with their credit card.  Team members must register no later than Friday, September 30.  Captains may add team members to the roster up to two weeks before the final regularly scheduled match.

All players participating in the Heart of America Adult League must be current members of the USTA and registered on TennisLink.  The membership must not expire before April 30, 2012.

Each player shall have reached the age of eighteen (18) years during the calendar year in which such player plays in her/his first local league match.

The Heart of America (HOA) District began using the Dynamic Rating System as of September 1, 2002.  Dynamic NTRP is an enhanced tennis rating system that generates player ratings after each match is played during the course of a season (unlike the former "static" system that defers all ratings calculations to year-end).

Current Year End Ratings for all Missouri Valley Section players are available on TennisLink.  Simply click on "Find A Rating" on the right hand side of the page.

A player may play in more than one NTRP level during the same season.  A player may play up only one level.  For example, a 3.5 player can play in the 3.5 or 4.0 divisions, but may not play in the 4.5 division.

Any player without a valid computer rating may "self-rate" on TennisLink.  TennisLink will then a) prompt the player to answer questions regarding their tennis history and b) then be assigned a rating based on the answers provided on the Questionnaire.  If a player does not agree with the rating assigned by TennisLink, he/she may file an appeal directly after completing the questionnaire.  The Self Rate Appeal link is available on the rating assigned paged.  The Appeal shall be submitted electronically.

$15.00 Per Person - includes tax and new can of tennis balls each week of play.  Captains should collect the fees from each member of their team and then pay the total amount to the club before a match starts.  Individual players should not pay the club directly.

Schedule:

Each team should consist of at least 10 players but not more than 18 players.  Matches will be held at various area indoor tennis clubs on the days and times listed below based on court availability.  Note, the 5.0 level format is one singles and two doubles.

At least four of the players on each team must be within level (i.e., on a men’s 3.5 team, at least four men on the team must have a NTRP rating of a 3.5).

Each match has a two-hour time limit including a ten-minute warm-up.  Each match is the best two out of three sets, regular scoring.  A 10-point tiebreaker, using Coman procedures, will be played in lieu of a 3rd set.

Captains of Winter teams should remember they must have a sufficient number of players on their rosters, including singles players, so that if their team wins the Winter season, they will be able to compete against the Summer winners and at Sectionals.  Remember that all players must play in a minimum of two matches during the season to participate in the Playoffs.
