   Heart of America District Grants Policy

 

General Policy Statement

The Grants Committee will accept applications from USTA organizational members and determine if their requests meet the established criteria. Players who are involved in the program or event should benefit directly from the grant, and, in turn, the tennis community will benefit. Based on the established criteria, the Grants Committee will evaluate and approve or disapprove the grant awards. Please note that the Heart of America District Board of Directors reserves the right to override any decision(s) made by the Grant Committee. 

Eligibility
 
To be eligible, organizations or community entities must be USTA organizational members committed to "growing" the game of tennis. They must submit a completed grant application for consideration. If approved, they must fulfill the stated commitment and report the results/outcomes of their initiative to the Heart of America District Grants Committee for evaluation within thirty (30) days of completion of their Program.
 
Criteria
  • Grant Request. Amount of Grant money awarded would be dependent on budget, organization’s need, etc. 
  • History. The Grants Committee will consider and evaluate the history of the requests. These factors may include the dollar amounts of grants previously awarded, the number of grants awarded, the frequency of grant requests, the ability to fulfill the commitment, proven benefit, etc.
  • Impact. The Grants Committee will evaluate the impact of the grant request as to the benefits, the number of participants, etc.
  • Evaluation. Organizations will be responsible for follow-up reporting, including the completion of an evaluation form within thirty (30) days of the completion of the Program. The Grants Committee will provide the Evaluation Form. The Grants Committee will ensure that the completed Evaluation Form is received
